A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month. No returns!
August has arrived, and the sun is out, the temperatures are high and I'm wondering if our Winter will be cut short.
This month's focus is on a floral arrangement. I was excited to buy myself a bunch of flowers and showcase them to you today but it turns out that the floral gods had something better in mind.
Heading into my local florist, I was confronted my large displays of roses and tulips and lillies and orchids. But I wanted to find something different, something not so extravagant. Then in the corner of my eye, I saw a little basket filled with 3 little pots of African Violets and I fell in love.
They may not be a proper floral arrangement but they were what I needed in that moment. 3 little pots of beauty that provided me with joy and provided my home with colour.
Sometimes we don't always need the extravagant. Sometimes the simple will work just fine.
Yes, yes it does.
***Floral Fridays is a monthly photography project with different themes each month. This series is about fun and taking time out to smell the flowers. To play along, please email Trishie (trishie@underlockandkeyblog.com) for next month's theme or visit her here

What a sweet trio if African violets! They look really pretty on the window sill. And such gorgeous colours too. Remember not to water too much, and they will stay lovely for you.
